Become a member of the Clan

« The Court of the Lord Lyon » is the authority that regulates Scottish heraldry and genealogy. It describes that every Scottish person or person with same Scottish name as the Chief of the Clan or a family name of the septs of the clan (adopted families), can claim to be a member of the clan.

In addition, any person lending allegiance to the Chief becomes a member of the clan, if the Chief of the Clan accepts it.

This power of adoption may also be delegated by the Chief to some of his officers.
